This is simply an FYI for forum members who want to make a change in their life after listening/reading the 'Are you yet carnal' session from the conference. One of the most profound truths from the passage of the widow giving all she had (2 mites) [Mark 12:42-42, Luke 21:2-3] was: At least she gave something!
But I didn't start this thread to nag anyone over finances (I've only donated sparingly myself...and I'm a moderator!), but to show how simple yet helpful it can be.
I don't write checks and have never ordered checks from my bank in years. But I do the 'Online Bill Pay service' which almost all banks offer for free. This service alone saves you the cost of postage along with the ability to send to anyone in the United States...the bank writes the check and mails it for you! You have complete control and can even set up a schedule while also designating EXACTLY what day a recipient is to receive your check.
Also, I use Paypal...this service works great for those who maintain a tighter budget and are constantly balancing their account. You can choose any amount to be withdrawn from your account to the BT paypal account and it's INSTANT. No waiting for a check to be cashed and you possibly forgetting to mark in your register. It's almost like using a debit card purchase to help finance the website. Or even use credit cards if you'd like (but please don't go into debt over this...again, something is better than nothing).
One final note, let's not make this into an idol of the heart...no one is buying their way in the kingdom or buying some kind of assurance into being the Elect. This is more of a 'how to' and also to highlight the many avenues one can take to support the website & forum. Both are a major part of my life and I can say I would feel at a great loss without them everyday. I'm sure some of you feel the same...so let's DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
